an afternoon bonfire

10.08.2012

Fine.
So it wasn't really a bonfire.
But it was a fire {contained, thank you very much}.
And I guess that is close enough.

We had some friends over yesterday {along with my fabulous parents who visited for the weekend!!!} to watch General Conference and eat pizza/make s'mores/roast Starbursts.
We scooped up all the leaves we could in the backyard and let all the wee ones get their fall on.
It was so much fun, and we are so blessed to have such great people around us!
One couple started going into labor, so they dropped their sweet boy off to stay with us for a few days.
Seriously. This kid is amazing.
Both Harlow and Kemry fought for his affection, but he simply wanted to play on our piano instead of kiss the girls.
Good boy :)

mini-getaway

10.05.2012

We have had a tough couple of days as a family.
You know, when nothing goes right?
When your body isn't acting like it should, for no reason whatsoever...
When your toddler is going through terrible twos {albeit 4 months early}...
When your furnace breaks so you have no heat as the temperatures slip lower and lower...
When your computer breaks out of the blue {which was thankfully fixed, holla!}...
When work stresses your husband out more than usual, thus stressing the wife out as well...
When you go to bed early and wake up even more exhausted than before...
And {especially} when you misplace your Coke from this morning, and you only had two sips before it mysteriously went missing.

It has just been a valley-kind-of-strech for us.

So we skipped town, just for a day.
And we decided that our soul-healing mini-vaca destination would be Lake Superior.
Even though it was frigid, it was all so lovely at the same time.
And while we are not out of our crappy valley yet, we are ever so helpful that a peak will come sooner or later.
{preferably sooner, but we won't push our luck.}

happy october!

We are fixed!
Oh if I could bake that nerdy little guy at the Genius Bar cookies, I would!
{But he didn't seem too in love with us, so he probably wouldn't have eaten them anyway}

He fixed our little Mac.
For freeeeeee!
And I didn't lose anything off of my computer.
It may have been the best day of my life.

We took one last trip sans-coats to the park the other day, just to get some Kemry-wiggles out.
We played for the longest time, and she threw the biggest tantrum ever once we left.
{Which I guess is how she reacts ever time we leave a Kemry-friendly activity anyway}.
