some exciting news

5.10.2012

We're moving!

Well, duh.
I guess everyone knew that.
{And if you didn't, see here}.

We're moving...early!
Like 2 months early.
Like... We-are-moving-in-2-weeks early.

Tyrel scored a pretty awesome job in St. Paul.
Well, actually a few awesome jobs.
He had put in some applications, just for the fun of it, but had our available date toward the end of July/August.
The day after, he got two phone calls, and about a week later, two job offers.

It wasn't really as smooth as that, but nothing ever is.
I will spare you the details, maybe because my heart just recovered from the stress and anxiety of the whole ordeal {mainly putting in my two-weeks at work when we had "pending" job offers...}.

My amazing parents are coming out over Memorial Day weekend and loading up their trailer with all of our junk.
Then we make the trek back to good old South Dakota {I have missed thee!}, where I will stay with my family while Tyrel goes through 4 weeks of training in Nebraska {or maybe Minnesota...details aren't 100% final...there goes my heart attack again}.
After training is finished, we will move up to St. Paul and start another little chapter as a family.

We are terribly excited {although my parents might be more-so than we are, since not-so-baby Kemry will only be 4 hours away instead of 18}.
We are terribly nervous as well.

There is so much to miss {especially all of the amazing family and wonderful friends we have enjoyed here in Idaho (6 years for me, 25 years for Tyrel)} but also so much to look forward to!

To our Rexburg-ian/Idaho Falls-ian/{even Utah-ian} friends:
We will miss you terribly!  Make sure to catch us before we leave!
And come visit.
Mall-of-America.
Done.

To our SoDak-ian friends:
We're coming! We're coming!
Play with us for a month!
Seriously. we are way more fun now that we religiously use sidewalk chalk and professionally sing this song to Kemry {actions and all}!!!

To our Minnesotan friends:
Please be nice to us and pretend you like us.
We might just win you over!
{But really, we have no social life. Let's change that?}

Here's hoping we have lots of fun and exciting things to tell you in the near future!

kemry's first bubble bath

4.24.2012

Kemry hates stuff on her hands.
And her feet.
She is just like me in that regard.
I have to wipe my hands every five seconds when I am cooking, because I hate the feeling of eggs, batter, flour, milk, {etc} on my hands.

Things were no different when we plopped Kemry into the tub with yummy, watermelon-smelling bubbles.
Lots of hand shaking and wiping.
A little pouting, too.

Things got better when Dad played with the bubbles, though.
They were totally legit at that point :)

15 months

4.22.2012

One month older.
It's crazy, isn't it?
May is approaching, and I don't even know where January went, let alone the last year of the Kembot's life!

best job in the world

4.19.2012

My dear friend Amy shared this on her blog, and it about made me cry this morning.
Enjoy :)

sickly {3}

4.13.2012

Look at those under-eye bags. Poor sickly!

Kemry doesn't really get sick often.
But when she does get sick, she gets siiiiiiiiiiiick.
This past week has been full of green snot, harsh coughs, soaring temperatures, and lots of tears.
Tears from both baby and mommy since I managed to catch this same bug from Kemry.

It is true that mommies never get sick days.
All I want to do is drink an entire bottle of NyQuil and sleep
{a statement that I actually now recant due to the NyQuil hangover I am now experiencing.}

We finally broke down and took Kemry to the doctor so she could get some meds.
She is finally starting to act like herself again, which is great.
But I am still a walking snot/cough/sneeze/tissue machine.

I am so lucky to have an amazing husband who helps tame the wild Kemrybeast when I am not at my best.
He is especially a saint because I am the only person she wants when she is sick, so much of his time is spent holding a full-blown tantrum.

Kemry has been a trooper, too.
She {as you see in the picture} knows what to do with the thermometer.
She also likes to carry her {closed} medicine bottles around, tapping the lids with a syringe and putting it in her mouth, just like mommy gives it to her.
She is even starting to catch on how to blow her nose into the tissue and that Vicks solves everything.

Alas, as much as sickness is the worst, it is kinda the best.
Seriously.
I love all of those cuddles.
