40/52

11.02.2014

Here are some really crummy photos for Week 40.
Life has been busy, get it?

Tate: He can now impressively say "basketball", which makes his dad so very proud. He also screams- no, shrieks- at the top of his lungs when he wants something. We are all walking around with permanent headaches :)
Kemry: Little lady has been all about writing lately. She loves to copy the words I write but gets even more excited when we can write daddy a little love note :)

Kemry: We babysat two of her little friends recently, and these two got pleeeeenty comfortable with each other ;) Ah, young love.
Tate: Dude has been cutting some molars and has a few more teeth just waiting to poke through. He is often slobbery, usually poopy, and always adorable. Duh.

Tate: Adding to his cute little list of words he babbles all day are the words "apple" and "light." But he still won't call me mama? He is growing up so so so fast and is loving all things fall {except being thrown in the leaves, but we will leave that for another time}.

Kemry: {in another Halloween wig, just like last week...of course...we practically live in Target's Halloween section during the month of October}. Have we talked about Tarzan yet? Tarzan is her new imaginary husband. Her "jungle husband" as she calls him. She holds his hand, gets married to him every day, and even has a baby with him. Thanks, Netflix. Her former fling "Jake" is now only referred to as "her best customer", so we are hoping she only sells him lemonade and nothing else ;)

10.01.2014

Kemry: This one is so so so so so so SO excited for Halloween! These next 30 days are going to be super rough on her. All that waiting...But we have started assembling our family group-themed costumes, and it is going to be great ;)

Tate: Tate is so gosh darn smart. Seriously. One smart nugget. We tell him what to do {as in, "Let's go brush our teeth!" or "Should we get a banana?"}, and he RUNS immediately to the spot we need to go. He also has a huge fascination for animals and thinks books are the most amazing items in the world.

9.23.2014

Sickness has once again plagued the Murri family.
But, alas, we have conquered it and are back to our normal shenanigans.
It is rare that we all get sick with the same thing, but when it happens, life stops.
It was the nastiest bug I have had in a long time, so don't get it yourself!
Say no to germs!

Unrelated- Happy first day of Fall!
It's my favorite season!
I think I am going to eat a billion pumpkin chocolate chip cookies to celebrate :)

Tate: You can currently find him walking around saying "owie!" and "uh-oh!" nonstop as well as flashing the touchdown arm sign. It makes his daddy mighty proud :)

Kemry: This one has developed a serious attitude since being sick. It's like the teenage years have come far too early. Any advice on how to get my sweet little girl back would be appreciated! On a good note, she has started to master the somersault {which is a huge deal for a girl who is terrified of being upside-down}. She is also trying to squeeze in as many dirt birthday cakes as possible before the weather gets too cold.

September!
It's already September!
This year has flown by super super fast already.
Let's face it.
Christmas is practically next week.

Kemry: She keeps us laughing so so so so so so so much every day, regardless of whether or not she knows we are watching her.

Tate: This dude still cries every time we put him down for sleep of any kind. Lately, he has started screaming, "Dad! Dad! Daddy! Dad!" hoping to be saved. But what he doesn't know is that am the pushover, not dad ;)

8.29.2014

Kemry: I am starting to see more and more of myself in this little girl every day. She is slowly looking more like I did but is rapidly acting exactly like I did. Luckily, I was a complete angel of a child ;)

Tate: This guy loves his sister to pieces. He follows her around all day long, doing everything she does. There is nothing more adorable and more hilarious than watching these two. They are my faves!

We are off for a quick weekend at my parents before they move {both Tyrel's parents and mine sold our childhood homes within a month of each other...we feel like misplaced adult children now ;) }, so we wish you a happy holiday weekend!
Also, Fall is cooooooooommmmmming!!
Yahooooooo!

8.27.2014

Kemry: I just love this little girl. She is quick to forgive, quick to apologize, and quick to bring a smile to my face.

Tate: This handsome guy just keeps growing up. Boo. His current list of talents includes the words hi, daddy, mama, ball, dog, wow, yeah, various animal noises, a mastery of the stairs {gulp},  and some killer dance moves. He is just so dashing! And dirty. Always dirty.

This poor, neglected blog.
Sometimes I think I should just put the old girl to rest, but I don't think I quite want to part with my space here yet.
I've just be flat out swamped, yo.
I've been taking lots of photos, giving lots of baths, and having some commitment almost every single day for the last who-knows-how-long.
Summer is almost over, so I should enjoy the craziness before we have to hibernate in a few months, but wowza!

Anyway....

Kemry: We have started visiting dance studios so she can start classes next month, and she has been over the moon. She never wants to leave and always asks when we get to go back. She'll certainly be a natural ;)

Tate: Dude turned one, and I'm both heartbroken/overjoyed. I miss the baby stage already, but I think the one-year-old stage is my favorite. He is so hilarious, so cuddly, and so smart already.

8.05.2014

It is August.
And this year has flown by faster than any other.
Did you know that Tate turns one on Thursday?
And that I am having a heart attack?
I guess life moves quickly when its going well, so I shouldn't complain that we are having a great summer {although it is mainly just me and the offspring as Tyrel is swamped with everything else in the whole world}.
I just want a longer summer.
Summer all the time!
And fall.
You can't live without fall.
It's my favorite, ya know?

Kemry: She has a  daughter already. Her name is Sweetie. And she calls me grandma. Sweetie goes everywhere with us, and Kemry even holds her hand. Thank goodness Sweetie is imaginary.

Tate: This guy walks around like he owns the house. He loves to throw our phones in the garbage, imitate a fire truck {weeee-oooo weeee-oooo!!!}, and dances all the time, just like his sister.

7.25.2014

Kemry: She gets a new HUGE box of sidewalk chalk at the start of every summer, and it quickly disappears. We make a point to go outside and color at least once a day. Don't tell Tate, but it might be my favorite part of the day ;)

Tate: Speaking of Tate, this guy is all over the place. It is nice to have him walking because it finally gives him some independence {any of you that know him know that he is very much a mama's boy, so my arms are finally feeling a little relief!}, but he just gets into everything SO much faster. What a sweet blessing he is, though!

7.10.2014

Have you guys been crazy busy, or is it just me?
And with really nothing in particular?
I mean, we have had friends get married, some have babies, some come into town.
And then we had a holiday, went OUT of town, had an anniversary, and are getting Tyrel ready for his residency coming up.
So, yeah.
Busy.
I think I still have the last Dominican Republic post to do?
It came down to doing that or showering this week, and by golly I finally took a shower.
You are so welcome!

Tate: is all over the place. You can't keep him still or out of anything, and I seriously love it. This is one of the most fun ages ever. He is also getting two new teeth and is soooooo close to walking. He does just fine until he realizes you aren't holding him anymore and then freaks out. That boy.

Kemry: is such a good big sister. We often find toys in Tate's crib that she has given him throughout the night, just to make sure he is happy. Melt my heart!

7.02.2014

Tate: Can you believe that this guy turns ONE next month?!?! I am going to have a heart attack. Also, he has started taking his first steps. Serious. It is nuts.

Kemry: was made to live in permanent summertime. She is all about summer {as are we} and asks daily if we can go to the beach yet.
Soon, little minnow. Soon!

6.20.2014

Tate: Tricks are his new dig. He thinks clapping his hands is the coolest thing ever, likes to dance, and is starting to get pretty good at giving fist-bumps. Seriously.
Kemry: These storms that have passed through have been both awful and wonderful for her. Awful: stuck inside, scary thunder, worms all over. Wonderful: puddles to jump in, rainbows to look for, and rain to watch out the window.

6.17.2014

Kemry: This sweet girl wants to spend all day riding in the bike trailer behind our bikes. She asks every day. And she likes to hold Tate's hand while we are cruising down the street :)
Tate: Tate is still only crawling on one knee {and using the opposite foot to help push along}, but he is walking all over while pushing his little walker {and also RUNNING in his little contraption pictured above}. If he didn't already keep us on our toes...

6.11.2014

You know that phase where you come back from vacation, and you are so behind on everything that you never seem to catch up?
Just me?
Well, that is the big hole I have fallen into.
I feel like we came back to a whole different life.
With all the new greenery outside, good friends that have moved away, saying adieu to my lovely Young Women, a summer residency grad school hubby, and two kids that wanted us to go back on vacation the minute we walked in the door, I don't feel like I have a grasp on life.
The small one is waking up at 4 am for the day while the slightly-bigger one has so much disobedience in her system that she seems to HAVE to get out.
I haven't seen the gym in almost a month, practically every dish we own is dirty, despite cleaning them every day, and my energy levels are loooooooooow.
BUT!
We must soldier on!
Summer is here, and we aren't going to let it escape!

With all that said, here are LAST WEEKS kid pictures.
And thanks for the patience with the vacation pictures.
Y'all keep asking where they are, but I promise I'm not ignoring you!

Tate: This little guy eats non-stop. He would finish off a box of graham crackers in one sitting if I let him.

Kemry: Currently in time-out and fake hyperventilating, this one is just full of crazy energy. Some of it is used for good {most of the time, thankfully}, but wahoooooo, I tell you!

6.03.2014

We're baaaaaack!
Last weeks post is late because the hubs y yo were vacationing it up in the Dominican Republic for 10 days.
It was so much fun, and although we are very glad to be home, we are finding it hard not to greet and thank people in Spanish.
Courtesy of my mom and dad, here are the pictures of the children for week 22 of this year, both from the long trek to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Tate: Dude got two teeth while we were gone, and is almost crawling. Heck, he is almost walking. Also, he had no interest in nursing when we got home, but alas, we have finally grown accustomed to each other again, and we are back on the bonding wagon.

Kemry: has atttitude. Sweetness, yes, but SASS. While we thought my parents would have their hands full with Tate only, she certainly proved that she could be just as big of a bugger those last few days. We still love her, though ;)

I'll be back soon with a post concerning paradise.
I think we are already ready to go back.

Tate: is wiggly.
Kemry: is hillarious.

And I sure do love them both.

One photo, two kids.

Tate: Poor little guy is sick. Right along with me. I have had the cold of my life this week {and just before our vacation, wouldn't you know...}, and right around 3 am this morning it hit this little guy. He's got the fever; I've got the body aches. We make a good pair.

Kemry: This little one has managed without the curse of the evil cold so far and was so excited when I told her she could watch tv aaaaaallllllllllllllllllllll day if she wanted, just so I might squeeze in a nap or two. If you ever need a kid to take care of you while you are on the med, you want this girl. I have had so many check-ups, cuddles, and kisses. She's the best.

Also, I am feeling MUCH better and back to almost full health when I learned today that the forecast in the Dominican Republic is showing some SUN while we will be there! Seriously, it has been raining there for a month straight. I think Vitamin D is better than Vitamin C for colds anyday ;)

5.12.2014

Kemry: This little girl is so smart with a side of ornery. Also, upon hearing a man yell a certain obscenity in the Target parking lot this morning, she decided she needed to repeat it all the way home. While IN Target, a walk past the bra section as we headed toward the baby department turned into a waterfall of  comments about boobies the rest of the trip. Sigh.

Tate: Dude is on the cusp of crawling, getting his first teeth, and standing on his own, all in the past week. He keeps us super busy, but he is so squishy and delicious.
